Hakuna Matata! This means “no worries” in Swahili but you may have already known that, even if you are not fluent in Eastern African languages. The phrase “Hakuna Matata” was made popular in the 1994 Disney film, The Lion King; the story of a righteous kingdom led by a powerful male lineage, an intense battle between good and evil, atonement for wrong-doings, and sacrificial love. These themes strongly parallel another popular story; one that existed long before the Disney corporation. It is the story of Jesus Christ. Though The Lion King is not overtly Christian, and certainly is not marketed as a Christian film, there are undeniable Christian themes woven within this fictitious tale.
